Taking Flight!

Those of you who, like myself, are part of the trans community in Canada will already know that there is a growing chorus of us and our allies denouncing last summer's regulatory changes by Transport Canada that effectively ban anyone whose gender appears to be different from what their passport and/or other identification indicate from flying into or within Canada. Regulations are not like statutes (acts) and do not go through Parliament to become law; they are simply enacted and this one was enacted last July ... very quietly.

Well, we will not go quietly into the night on this one. Another movement is taking flight as I write this. Information on what you can do to voice your opposition can be found on Canadian trans activist Christin Milloy's site. Fellow Canadians in and out of the trans community, write to your MPs, sign petitions, organize.

Gender is a many varied thing and an injustice to anyone is an injustice to everyone!
